Ah! I am getting inspired out of my mind whilst being snowed into my own house. My lastest fave is Melissa Haslam!
Themes for new work -Girl in the quiet, dark, lush forest-
I have a solo show coming up in May... which means that I'd like to have at least 15 new pieces to show. This means that I have to make roughly one painting per week! Ah! With all the other things I have to do in my life (I am not able to do my art full-time yet,) this will be a TASK. However I'll get it done somehow.
IAM OKC Small Works Charity Auction on Sunday!
OK everyone, I just got back from helping to shoot a film in Tokyo on a super grueling schedule! So I still have jetlag and have a billion things to say but... I'll have to work on that later. I just want to remind everyone that there is still time to buy tickets for the IAM OKC Small Works Charity Auction on Sunday. There will be food, wine, music... and of course art by local artists. New piece! My favorite ever~ "Eagle's Feather -Taka No Ha-"
Yaaaay! I finished another piece for the IAM OKC Charity Art Auction. I like working on a deadline b/c it makes me work well. The title of this piece sounds rather Native American, BUT actually it's Japanese! "Eagle's Feather" is the name of the family crest for my mother's family, the Kai Family. I had extra power bursting out of me to work on this piece b/c of that, I guess. I felt different than usual when I was working! Like colors flowed out of my brush just controlled by my emotion! Woooow!
Finished! Night -Yoru-
Today it felt like a million tasks were getting in the way of me finishing any art. I was re-desiging a website that I should do at some point, but I shouldn't have wasted so much time on it today. I got absorbed in the graphic design universe. BUT! At the end of the day I did indeed finish "Night -Yoru-" complete with the gold paint. As I've said before, this piece will be for the Oklahoma City IAM Charity Art Auction at the end of January.
